A Single Day

This is a mini documentary about a day in the life of what it means to be a single mother living in Queens. This is my first venture in creating a film from start to finish. This film is very personal to me because it is a very in depth look at a very private aspect of my life

Jennifer I am very proud of you!. You are an amazing mother. You are doing everything humanly possible to succeed! How do we know you are not raising the next president? The next super greatest artist or writer. I bet you could very well be doing so. And you ARE Succeding art you own art. Yeah for your sister! I will write more later Gotta run to school.
I do have a little tear in my eye. I remember when I got out of grad school I was so poor I ate an apple a day. GRAD SCHOOL! I will only tell you how long this lasted. Love and Huge Hugs Karen

Hey, I love kids! Obviously you know that already since I write children's books. Let me know if you ever want an extra helping hand around the house. I cook (extremely well), clean, and am great with kids. And maybe you can share some of your experiences as a single mom for inspiration for my next book?

BTW, good documentary! Your struggle with work, spending time with your son, and living somewhere you're not 100% happy with is kinda sad. You're a very strong woman, Jennifer....I really admire you for that ^_^

What a beautiful photo document. I love the moments you chose to show us. That quiet time getting out of bed. The elevated train, the bath, reading together, teaching your son to use sidewalk chalk, watching him try to figure out how to fit the lid on the box.
It sounds cliche but these are precious moments! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. You are doing an amazing job.

Your video was great!! IT really gave an intimate view into your life and likely the lives of single mom's in general. I too was surprised at the minimal amount of discussion time he gave us? I guess he was in a rush to end the class no?! Oh well we're done with him now.

A heartfelt and truly honest work of art. It was beautiful to get a glimpse of your life outside of SVA. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I am so glad I got to see this! You can tell that your son is very smart for his age, thanks to his strong momma! Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with work that I feel like it's impossible to finish, but you have it sooo much harder than the rest of us. You're doing a great job and we're almost done! xoxo
